This past summer I was in desperate need of a new concealer. My sister had sold me on the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer but after finding my shade out of stock everywhere I had settled on the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
I had been using the NARS one nearly every day and it quickly became my new favourite concealer. At $36 it’s pricey, but it makes my skin look so bright and radiant that it’s worth the high price tag in my opinion. It has light diffusing technology and it is super hydrating, making it a perfect option for my dry complexion. While it doesn’t do much when it comes to covering my blemishes, it masks redness and my dark circles without creasing. I also love how well this concealer works either with or without foundation. There are 10 shades to choose from too, so I ended up with a perfect match for my fair complexion.
My NARS concealer is down to its final applications now, so when I was in Sephora to pick up a new one, I noticed they had the Urban Decay one with one left in my shade. Though I love the NARS one and would definitely repurchase it, I took it as a sign to give the Urban Decay one a try.
Right off the bat I notice that I get more coverage from the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. It’s surprisingly lightweight and gives off a luminous finish, which I love. Like the NARS concealer, this one works best to hide dark circles and redness, not blemishes. At $34 the price is comparable to the NARS one as well. There are 8 shades to choose from in this range, so not as many as the NARS. I was still able to find a perfect match for myself, but it might be more difficult with this concealer for others. The Urban Decay concealer makes me look more awake and doesn’t crease even on long days. The formula also contains peptides to support youthful looking skin.
All in all, these concealers are very similar. If I had to choose a favourite, I would pick the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I really like that I get more coverage with this one with a lightweight texture. They’re both amazing though and I would without a doubt repurchase them both.
Where do you stand? Do you prefer the Urban Decay or the NARS concealer?
