The Importance of Retinol

The Importance of RetinolToday I wanted to talk about the importance of retinol. Retinol is an amazing ingredient when it comes to skincare. It is a potent derivative of vitamin A that targets a variety of common skincare concerns. Two of the main problems it addresses is acne and aging. Retinol helps banish acne and it kick-starts the release of collagen, which makes the skin look younger.

All ages and skin types can benefit from incorporating retinol into the skincare routine, which is really great.

Products that do contain retinol are not going to come at a cheap price tag but it is definitely worth the investment.

One other thing to note about the use of retinol in your skincare routine is that SPF becomes even more important. While you should always be using an SPF to protect your skin from the sun, retintol makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, making it even easier to burn.

I’ve added the Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution* to my skincare routine. It works to prevent and correct sun damage including uneven skin tone and wrinkles. It also brightens, firms, and smooths skin. It can be used in the morning and/or at night, though I have been strictly using it in the evening. It has a medicinal smell to it, but it goes away quickly and after a few weeks of using it, I don’t even notice it anymore. The solution is lightweight and it absorbs quickly, which I really like!

While it can take a while to see the noticeable benefits from retinol, I have already noticed my skin has been looking a lot brighter lately and my acne has been getting better. I look forward to continuing to use this serum for further results.

Do you use retinol in your skincare regime?
