StrobingStrobing has been a makeup trend on my radar this summer. As someone with dry skin, this dewy look is both hydrating to my skin and looks so fresh for the warm weather.
As I’m sure highlighting and contouring isn’t going anywhere, it’s nice to see a simpler trend taking over for the time being. I don’t always want to spend a ton of time doing my makeup in the summer so this trend is perfect. It’s really simple to do and I love how radiant it leaves my skin looking.

Today I thought I would share with you my three favourite products to achieve this look:

First and foremost is the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. This limited edition product has had so much hype and has been sold out for a while, so when I saw it back in stock I picked it up immediately. It is such a beautiful highlighter with pretty peachy undertones. It blends so nicely on the skin and the texture is amazing. I love the soft glow it gives my skin. This is by far the most luxurious highlighter I’ve used and it definitely lived up to my expectations. If you think you want to give this one a go, I strongly recommend picking one up as soon as possible.

Next up is Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl. This was my favourite highlighter before picking up the Becca one. As I previously mentioned, I have dry skin so I really like that this product comes in liquid form. It feels really hydrating on my skin and gives me just the right amount of luminosity. The packaging is so pretty and the formula smells really nice. You roll up the formula which is kind of neat. I don’t love the applicator as I find it applies more than I need so I use my fingers instead. Other than that, this is my ideal product for strobing.

Next is The Balm’s Mary Lou-Manizer. I would recommend this product for oily skin as it is in powder form. I tend to use this on my forehead as it can get a bit oily throughout the day. This is a bit more subtle in comparison to the Girl Meets Pearl, but still lasts just as well. This was actually the first highlighter I ever used and I still come back to it.

Lastly is Benefit’s Watt’s Up. I recently rediscovered this product in my makeup collection and am in love with it all over again. Its stick formula is great for combination skin and the sponge applicator on the other end is actually quite decent. I often find when products come with an applicator that they don’t work the best, but this one exceeded my expectations. You apply the stick as normal and use the sponge to blend the product in. This results in a very natural finish, perfect for those “no makeup” makeup days.

What do you guys think of strobing? Do you have a favourite highlighter?
