I haven’t mentioned this on my blog yet, but I recently started doing some freelance writing for L’Oreal’s website: www.makeup.com! It has been so much fun so far and last week I got to go to the Urban Decay store in Square One to have my makeup done and learn more about the brand!
I was so excited to go as I love Urban Decay. Their Naked Skin Complete Coverage Concealer is something I blog about all the time and I’m obsessed with their eye shadows! It was a very interesting visit so I wanted to share the experience with you guys!
When I first got there I got to learn more about the history of the brand. I already knew the products were cruelty-free but I didn’t realize that many of them are vegan too! It was so fun to see how the packaging and logos have changed over the years as well. They also have their own loyalty program which is so awesome! I signed up and can’t wait to keep earning points.
I then had my makeup done, which was such a cool experience! I regret not taking any pictures of the completed look as it was so feminine and pretty. I got to try out some new products I hadn’t yet tried and learned some really great tips! I think my favourite tip was massaging primer into your skin to get blood flowing – it changes the texture of the primer and gives really great results, plus it feels amazing. I’ve been doing this in the morning and my makeup has been lasting so much better than when I speedily apply it.
I was going to talk you through the products that were used, but I plan to review them all separately over the next little bit and don’t want to be too repetitive. A couple of the highlights for me were the Quick Fix Priming Spray, the All Nighter Foundation, and the Heavy Metals Palette! I hadn’t tried a priming spray before, but it’s safe to say I’m hooked! I had heard mixed reviews about the foundation but I think it’s my new favourite! It makes my skin look so soft and airbrushed. And, if you’ve seen the Heavy Metals palette I don’t need to tell you how gorgeous it is!
It was such a fun day! If you’re ever in the Toronto area I definitely recommend stopping by the Square One location, though there is another store in Burnaby. It was such a cool experience and I feel so lucky to have been able to go!
Have you been to a stand alone Urban Decay store before?
