I have been lusting after the entire collection that Gwen Stefani collaborated on with Urban Decay. Every product looks insanely gorgeous and Urban Decay makes some incredible products. I was most excited about the lipsticks though, as lipstick is hands down my favourite makeup product. So, when her new lipstick line launched, I couldn’t resist picking up a couple new shades.
I opted for ‘714’ and ‘Rock Steady’ but there is eight gorgeous shades to choose from.
‘714’ is the first lipstick in Urban Decay’s range in their new Mega-Matte formula. This lipstick goes on quite thick, but once it’s on it feels virtually weightless on the lips and is a gorgeous matte.
Gwen Stefani does a red lip so well so I figured picking up her red was a safe bet. The colour is the perfect shade of red, in my opinion. It is more blue toned rather than orange, so I find it makes my teeth look a bit whiter, which is never a bad thing. This lipstick is very pigmented and because of the matte finish is very long wearing.
‘Rock Steady’ is a beautiful deep wine hue with a creamy finish. It applies nicely and feels very moisturizing on the lips. This one has been my go-to lipstick since I got it. My lips tend to get dry and even chapped this time of year so lipstick can be a bit tricky to wear because of this. The cream finish of this one though feels hydrating and doesn’t make my lips look flaky. This one isn’t quite as long lasting as ‘714’, but still wears well even through eating and drinking.
I’m very impressed with both of these lipsticks. The packaging looks really nice. I love the gold and black combination, though the plastic does feel a little on the cheap side. At $22 the price point of these lipsticks are in between the drugstore and higher end making them a nice little treat without breaking the bank.
