Gingerbread House

Gingerbread HouseMaking a gingerbread house with Sam is one of my favourite Christmas traditions. I don’t even like eating the house but decorating it while we watch a Christmas movie is something I look forward to every holiday season.

I think our gingerbread house turned out pretty good this year! Since I don’t eat the house we always opt to make one together to be less wasteful and I think we make a pretty good team — within an hour of building it a good chunk of it had been eaten!

There are so many options for different gingerbread houses now! In my hunt to find one I saw more traditional options, which is what I chose, but there were all sorts of different options like mini villages, trains, etc. I think even hosting a gingerbread house party would be a lot of fun and something I would like to try next year. Everyone could decorate their own gingerbread house and then vote on whose looks the best!

Do you make a gingerbread house every year too?

  • I’ve never made a gingerbread house before! I don’t think it’s a traditional thing in Switzerland but I would love to do that one day! It sounds so funny!

  • I just bought my first gingerbread house kit a few days ago. I can’t wait to decorate it wit my little brother.
    Your house looks traditionally perfect.

    • Thanks, Michelle! This is actually at my sister’s place but she does such a great job of decorating! Have fun building yours with your brother 🙂
