I’m back from my blogging hiatus and it feels so good! Last week I decided to take a break just to recharge my batteries and honestly it was the best thing I could have done for myself. I feel so refreshed and inspired! That being said, for my first new post in over a week I wanted to share with you some of the drugstore makeup I’m currently loving!
I totally have spring fever right now which has resulted in a complete revamp of my makeup collection as well as my wardrobe. I am so ready for warmer weather so it’s been fun getting myself ready for the change in seasons.
The drugstore has a lot of really great products right now, which is always so nice! The products are really on trend from what I’ve discovered and I’ve also been impressed with the quality! Here are some of my current favourites:
Milani Baked Blush in “Luminoso”
This blush is so pretty and the perfect winter to spring transition, in my opinion. It really adds a healthy looking flush to my skin and the staying power is impressive! I can apply this blush in the morning and not need to touch it up throughout the day which is huge for me. My skin just eats up blush for whatever reason, but that isn’t the case with this one. I find a lot of drugstore blushes to be patchy, but this one isn’t at all! It blends effortlessly and looks really flattering on the skin!
L’Oreal Lumi Shimmerista Strobe Powder*
This multi-purpose powder can be used as an ultra-luminous finishing powder, a powder strobing product, or even as a total body highlighter! It gives the skin a soft glow that is insanely gorgeous. I like adding a bit of this to the high points of my face, but I can see myself using it even more once the warm weather is here!
Maybelline does eye shadow pretty well in my opinion. I am rarely disappointed by their formulas and these little palettes are no exception! Each palette has 6 shades that work perfectly together to give you a New York City inspired look. I have “Rooftop Bronzes” which is full of warm browns and golden tones, “Chill Brunch Neutrals” which is made up of really pretty taupes and purples, as well as “Downtown Sunrise” which has really pretty pops of pink. These compact palettes are perfect for travel and create really nice eye looks with ease!
I’ve been more into pencil liners lately for everyday wear and these ones from L’Oreal have been my go-to! The creamy formula glides on effortlessly to define my eyes while being incredibly long lasting. They are very pigmented and I love that they are smudge-resistant. They can also be used in the waterline which is a nice perk, especially for the shade “Nude” as I love applying it to my waterline to fake well-rested eyes. I also have the shades “Cobalt Blue” and “Grey” which are equally as nice!
I love this formula! It is seriously so long lasting and gives the lips a flawless matte finish. Maybelline recently launched this nudes collection, which I really loved since when it comes to liquid lipsticks nudes are my favourite. “Poet” is a really pretty pinky-beige nude shade that is super flattering. This has quickly become my go-to lipstick for everyday makeup since it goes with any makeup look. The formula is a bit sticky which is kind of weird for a liquid lipstick, however it’s not unbearable and a small price to pay for such a long lasting liquid lipstick!
This mascara is a classic! It’s been around for a while but is one I always come back to. I love how intensely black it is, not to mention how voluminous it makes my lashes look! I never have to worry about smudging or flaking with this mascara, which is key. It layers nicely and gives me really dramatic looking lashes.
