I’ve always had a decent sized makeup collection, but since I started blogging it has definitely grown at a faster rate than it would have had I not started a blog. I see countless products a day being featured on other blogs so it can be hard to resist getting products I see rave reviews about. Today I thought I would share with you guys some of the purchases I have made that have been influenced by other bloggers and what I thought of them.
First up is Essie ‘Summit of Style’ nail polish. This nail polish shows up in the background of so many photos and always catches my eye. When I spotted it on sale at the drugstore, I had to pick it up. I really like this one. Not only does it look pretty on it’s not too bumpy on my nails like some glitter polishes can be. Like most glitter nail polishes, this one is a bit annoying to take off, but that was to be expected. I wore this a lot throughout the holiday season.
Next is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. The tube of this mascara really caught my eye after seeing it pop up on countless blogs. Having been compared to Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara (which I already liked) made me eager to give it a go. I ended up really liking this mascara, even more so than the Benefit Roller Lash. I normally loathe drugstore mascaras, but this one got two thumbs up from me.
Since I am a huge fan of MAC lipsticks in general but after seeing the shade ‘Rebel’ pop up a lot this season, I had to go out and get one for myself. I love a bold lip for autumn and this one is so different than anything in my collection so I was definitely glad I bought one. The colour is so pretty and has been one of my go-to lip colours this past fall/winter.
This next one isn’t technically a blogger inspired purchase, but rather a YouTube inspired purchased. I love Jaclyn Hill and watch all of her tutorials. She uses MAC Fix+ on her eyeshadow brushes to create a foiled look with metallic eye shadows. This concept enthralled me so I went out and bought a bottle to try. To my delight, I found numerous other ways to use this product which was really exciting. I love this product and think it’s so nice that I can use it a variety of ways.
Speaking of Jaclyn Hill, when I saw she collaborated with Becca to create her own Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade ‘Champagne Pop’ I couldn’t resist. Jaclyn knows her highlighters so I had high expectations for this product. When it sold out almost immediately after it launched I was worried I had missed my chance. But, when it came back in stock at Sephora I jumped at the chance to get one. This is definitely my favourite highlighter in my collection. The shade is perfect and I get a lot of use out of it.
Next is the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. I see Suzie from Hello October use this product a lot and think her eyebrows are always so nicely done, so I had to give this a try. I love that it doesn’t make my brows crispy but still keeps them in place all day.
Then I have the Real Techniques Blush Brush. I did a post a little while ago about e.l.f. brushes claiming they were my favourite budget friendly brushes. A few of you told me how much you liked the Real Techniques brushes so when I saw them at a drugstore that I don’t frequent very often I picked one up to try. I really like it and definitely want to try some other brushes from them.
Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
