Birthday Weekend in Toronto

Birthday Weekend in Toronto

The weekend before last I was in Toronto with my mom and my sister to celebrate my birthday! They surprised me with the weekend getaway – and I was so excited! Toronto is one of my favourite places to visit and I was happy to be going with two of my favourite people.

We left early Saturday morning to make the most of our trip. We stopped at Starbucks on the way to the train station and caught the train about 8:30. The ride up was fun and went by pretty quickly. We arrived in the city about 11:15.

Birthday Weekend in Toronto

Birthday Weekend in TorontoIt was supposed to rain all weekend but it wasn’t when we got there so we decided to walk the 20 minutes to our hotel. We stayed at the Marriott which was central to everywhere we wanted to go, so that was pretty perfect! We were able to check in early too, which was nice so we didn’t have to lug our heavy bags around until 3.

Birthday Weekend in TorontoAfter checking in we went over to grab some lunch at the Eaton Centre quickly before our appointment at the Bite Beauty Lip Lab! The rain still was holding off so we ended up walking to the Lip Lab which was about half an hour each way. It was really nice to get to explore the downtown area a bit more than I normally do.

Birthday Weekend in TorontoI’m going to do a whole blog post about my time at the Lip Lab, but it was so much fun! We made our own lipsticks and had an absolute blast doing it!

On our way back we stopped at Nathan Phillips Square for some touristy photos, naturally.

Birthday Weekend in TorontoAfter that we went to Inglot before heading back to the hotel to drop off our stuff and leaving for the Eaton Centre to do some shopping. We shopped for hours and all got some really nice stuff!

Birthday Weekend in TorontoAround 8:30 we headed back to the hotel to drop off our purchases and freshen up before dinner. We decided to go to Milestones for dinner as it was nice and close. We also love the bellinis there, so those were a must-have! Dinner was delicious and it was nice to have some time to relax.

Birthday Weekend in TorontoAfter dinner we just headed back to the hotel to relax before bed. I fell asleep pretty quickly!

I woke up in the morning really sore from being on my feet and carrying heavy bags the day before. It was a sunny morning though, which was so nice and unexpected. We all got ready, checked out and went to the coffee shop across the street. I had been to a different one before and loved it so I was excited to go!Birthday Weekend in Toronto

We did some shopping at Urban Outfitters and then went to Saks Fifth Avenue. It was so gorgeous inside! After that we went to lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. I was craving a cheeseburger and this was likely the last time we would all get to eat at the Dundas Square location so we decided to go there before catching the train.

We walked to the train station and it was so beautiful out! We had to walk through the financial district and it was so nice seeing all of the super tall buildings.

The train ride home was pretty quick and my dad was waiting to pick us up at the station which was nice!

We ended up ordering Chinese food for dinner and having a quiet night in; which was the perfect way to end the weekend!
