Beauty sleep is a funny term. I grew up hearing it all the time and didn’t really give it much thought or validation. I mean if all you’re doing is sleeping, what does that have to do with being beautiful? Turns out my mother, grandmother, etc. were on to something!

While you sleep your skin has the chance to repair and renew itself, leading to a brighter, healthier looking complexion. This in turn will keep you looking youthful longer. 7-9 hours of sleep per night and it’ll help me look better? Sign me up!

It can be hard to set aside the time to get a full night’s sleep, especially when we’re busy, but it is important. Here are 5 reasons you need your beauty sleep:
